Quitting smoking is one of the most popular New Year's resolutions, and it is also one of the most difficult. Almost 90 percent of college students who are daily smokers and 50 percent of occasional smokers will still be smoking four years later, and 86.8 percent of students who smoke nicotine at least once daily are chemically dependent under DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) mental health standards.

Do not cry for the Proletariat, according to owner Denise Ramos; she wants the local bar and music venue to go out in style. The building at 903 Richmond Ave. will officially close its doors on Feb. 3.

UST alumni host film showcase

Dale Stewart has been interested in art from an early age and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts.
